  • Day 1:  Kathmandu to Lukla - Phakding ( 2610 m)

At first we will do a short pre-trek meeting in the hotel where arrangements will be made to distribute your kit bag, sleeping bag, and down/fiberfill jacket. After then we will drive you to the airport from hotel in Kathmandu.  A quick, 25-30-minute flight from Kathmandu will take you to Lukla (2,840m), the gateway to the Khumbu region and the starting point of this trek.

Travel through the Dudhkoshi River Valley, past various settlements such as Chheplung and Chaurikharka, before reaching Phakding. During the trek, enjoy great views of the Himalayas. It’s a leisurely day with a gradual descend of approximately 200 meters.

  • Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Get ready for an unforgettable journey as you trek alongside the thundering Dudh Kosi River, its milky waters carving through the valley. You’ll cross thrilling suspension bridges that sway high above the river, feeling your heart race with every step. Along the way, pass through peaceful Sherpa villages like Monjo and Jorsalle, where prayer flags flutter and smiles greet you at every turn. Finally, arrive at Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the lively heart of the Himalayas. Here, snow-capped peaks surround you, bustling markets invite exploration, and cozy teahouses offer warmth and rest. Every step feels like a new adventure, and every view leaves you in awe.

  • Day 3: Namche Bazar (Acclimatization)

We will Stay in Namche and allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. You have the option to hike to the nearby areas. One of the most interesting optional hikes on our list is the one that takes you to Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy great views of Mount Everest and other mountains in the Himalayas.

  • Day 4: Trek to Tengboche Monastery

The day will start with a quick ascend followed by a flat trail to reach Kyanjuma. We will then travel downhill from there to reach Phunki Tenga. Cross the Dudh Koshi River to reach Tengboche Monastery, the most important monastery in the region. Depending upon the weather and other factors, you might end your day in Debuche(3800m) or stay in Namche.

  • Day 5: Deboche to Dingboche

On this day we will make a quick descent to Debuche (if you did not do it yesterday) before starting an uphill climb toward Pangboche. See Everest, Amadablam, and Nuptse mountains along the way. Stop in Pangboche for tea before continuing to Somare for lunch. Travel through the Imja Valley and cross Lobuche Stream before ascending to Dingboche (4,410m).

  • Day 6:  Dingboche (Acclimatization)

The settlement of Dingboche is gorgeous, with fields and pastures flanked by stone walls. Explore the village or relax in your hotel and allow your body to acclimatize to the changing altitude. You can also participate in one of our optional hikes to Nangkartshang Peak or the Chhukung Valley.

  • Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche

A difficult day with steep climbing awaits you. The day starts with a gradual climb to Dughla, where we will stop for a quick lunch. It will be an early lunch today, but we do not have another option before reaching Lobuche.
A steep climb from Dughla will take us to the memorial of famous mountaineers such as Scott Fischer and Babu Chiri Sherpa. We will enter the Khumbu Glacier area and follow the route to Lobuche (4,910m), where you will be spending your night.

  • Day 8: Lobuche - Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp - Gorakshep (5,364m)

The first section of the trail will take you to Gorakshep via the Khumbu Glacier. Drop your bags and enjoy your lunch in Gorakshep before heading to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). The trail takes you through terrain strewn with rocks, moraines, streams, and a glacier. Reach Everest Base Camp, located in the middle of the Khumbu Glacier. Return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.
If you can muster some energy and if the weather gods permit, we will hike up to Kala Patthar late in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset. Please note that it’s not easy to cover Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp, and Kala Patthar on the same day.

  • Day 9: Kala Patthar (5545m) - Pangboche

In case you could not make it to Kala Patthar yesterday, today is your chance. Climb up to this famous landmark located above Gorakshep and enjoy amazing views of the mountains shining in the color of the morning sun.
Spend some time there before descending to Gorakshep. Grab your breakfast and start your downhill journey to Pangboche. A sunset view of Mount Amadablam from Pangboche is an unforgettable experience.

  • Day 10:  Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

Continue your journey downhill. Cross the Dudh Kosi River and make a steep climb to Kyanjuma. From this point on, the trail is largely flat or downhill until you reach the headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park just above Namche.

  • Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Lukla

A long day on a downhill trail awaits you. The last day of this trek is full of steep descends along the Dudh Kosi until you reach Phakding for lunch. The trail from Phakding to Lukla is mostly a gentle, uphill climb.

  • Day 12: Lukla To Kathmandu

I recently took a tour to the Mt Everest base camp using these guys and they were awesome. The employes met with me on the day off to make sure I had my documents ready before the flight up to Lukla, and my guide, Raj met me at my hotel and made sure everything was set for the adventure. We went during what is concidered the off season (mid-feb) which ended up being great. The weather was awesome and they guesthouses were not to crowded. We hit our goal and I crossed this off the bucket list. If you are from the States or Europe and looking at a hike in the Himalaya's as your next adventure give these guys a call. Good company to work with. A buddy ended up wanting to come with on the trip about a week before I left and they helped make it happen. As someone from the U.S. I wanted to use a guide and local company for the base camp hike and they ended up being great to work with.

Great trip with Nepal Lion! Response rate was fast, the Director, Shiva is contactable at all times during the trip via WhatsApp or Facebook for any queries. They even provided me with a local SIM card and guide assisted me to get data on the phone to stay connected. During the trip, guide was patient and safe. I fell sick on 2days and he was constantly checking if I was ok and was concerned when I didn't feel like eating. Very attentive and caring! After the trip, I was even treated to a local cultural dinner and given a certificate of completion. Definitely different from other tour operators.

I had a wonderful trip with Nepal Lion Tours. Shiva was in good contact before I came to Nepal to arrange everything. My guide for the trek, Pasang Lama Tamang was wonderful!!!!! He made sure I acclimitised safely and comfortably and took care of me so well at each tea house on the road. I had food allergies that he was really great about helping with. He also helped others along the way when they were not so lucky as me. It was an amazing trek - made even more amazing by Pasang.
