Trip Introduction

The nearest Himalayan region from Kathmandu valley is the Langtang valley. And this 7 Days Langtang Valley View Trekking will provide you ample opportunities to explore it. A few hours drive from Kathmandu will take you to the beautiful Langtang region. Despite being very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with the heavenly rural landscape. People living in the highlands of the Langtang region are Nepalese but they slightly resemble the Tibetan, their alleged ancestors.

Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Moreover, along with the variety of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, and the snow-capped Himalayas make the Trek one of the most diverse nearby Kathmandu.

Langtang valley additionally is “the valley of glacial masses trekking”. Langtang is the wardrobe place where you can get the monstrous snow-topped mountains and wonderful ice sheets. This valley lies just 19 miles north of Kathmandu and the entire valley is commanded by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m). And the valley also offers pine woodland, quick mountain streams, rough shake, and snow-capped tops, lush down, and glades.

Langtang is a beautiful place – one where you get to see mesmerizing snow-topped mountains covered on stunning sheets of ice. Dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246 m) and located at a distance of just 19 miles to the north of Kathmandu, this valley offers pine woodland forests, serene mountain streams, lush green slopes, and overall enjoyable experience.

The 7 Days Langtang Valley View Trekking starts with a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu to Syaphrubeshi. We begin the walk from Syaphrubeshi. We head upward to Lama Hotel and Langtang village until we arrive at the famous Kyanjin Gompa. After exploring the region, we trek the same route to Syabrubesi from where we drive back to Kathmandu.

You should let us know about your arrival to Kathmandu, we will be there to pick you up from Airport to your Hotel but our package only starts from the second day of your arrival.

Our representative will come at your door of your hotel at 6.30 in Kathmandu, to receive you before we start the trip.
The trip also starts with a drive of around 6 to 7 hours through lush green forest, meandering road through the hills and gracefully flowing riverside, like the way to Pokhara.
After breakfast, we drive out along the north-western mountains of Kathmandu. Delightful in the Himalayan views and marvel at the unique lifestyle through the terraced fields and rural towns. Enjoy lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before proceeding further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we go to Syabrubesi.

  • Day 2: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft) 6 hours

This is our first day of trekking. We follow the Langtang Khola(river). Pass through the thick woodlands. Cross a few suspension bridges. Pass tea-houses. The trail looks steep, but it isn’t that testing, and is always exciting.

  • Day 3:  Trek to Langtang Valley (3,430m/11,253ft) 6 hours

After a morning tea, we set out our second day of the voyage. Our trail proceeds along thick woods. Revel in the grand views of the Langtang-Lirung. Pass water factories, watch Chortens, and see stunning hills that have all kinds of engravings cut on them.

  • Day 4: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft) 3 hours

After breakfast, we escape the town and pass through yak pastures. We also cross the biggest Mani divider in Nepal and cross a few wooden scaffolds as well. Since, we are truly getting into the high elevations, you may begin to feel the thin mountain air. Kanjin Gompa is encompassed by the Himalayas all around. You can go out for a stroll around Kanjin Gompa appreciating the perspectives, ice sheets, ice-falls and yaks.

  • Day 5: Trek to kyanjin View Point & back to Lama Hotel

On the early morning, we visit to Kyanji view (4800/16,404ft) for stunning sunrise views. After breakfast, continue to Lama Hotel. Since it is basically downhill, it is 4/ 5 hours stroll from Kanjin Gompa to get to the Lama Hotel. Pass ethnic Tamang settlements who take after religious and social views like the Tibetans.

  • Day 6:  Trek over to Syabrubesi 4 hours

After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubensi, which takes a 5 hours walk. Enjoy the simple downhill trail through lush green vegetation. Upon arriving at Syabrubesi, we take our lunch.
Since we may have some spare time(depends upon the speed of our walk) after we arrive here, you can enjoy the stunning view of this bizarre hill-town.

  • Day 7: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu 7 hours

After breakfast, we drive over to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, we transfer you to your hotel. Had a great experience with Nepal Lion Tours on a 7 day Langtang Valley trek! They take care of everything from airport transfer, to renting sleeping bags, to handing tea house accommodations. Really enjoyed getting to know our guide Binod and porter Rajendra who were fun companions for the trek. Binod was very experienced and easy to communicate with. He did a great job planning out everything (especially as we were less experienced hikers), and also has a great eye for wildlife along the trail! Highly recommended if you are looking for a smooth trekking experience in Nepal!

We couldn't have been happier with this adventure. The views left us breathless, we enjoyed every single moment. Bishnu was very knowledgeable of the region, always had an answer for our questions and although he started as a guide, now it feels like we are leaving a good friend in Nepal. The lodges were all very comfortable (considering we are used to sleep in tents), and even though the temperatures were very low at night, we always felt warm with our sleeping bag and the duvet provided at each accommodation. Highly recommended to get the jeep to Syabrubessi, specially if you tend to suffer from travel sickness. We decided to take it in the last minute and never regretted. In general, our trip to Nepal wouldn't have been the same without Shiva's help. He gave us lots of fantastic advices, helped to organize other visits and experiences and was always very attentive with us. Communication was really easy all the time, and he proved to be more than just a trip organizer. Would definitely recommend him

We arranged our Langtang trekking at the very last moment. We met Mr. Paudel at his office. He was very friendly and helpful and arranged this trekking for us within a day. We had a very friendly guide Bishnu and also two friendly porters Bikas and Ramkumar! Bishnu is a very good host and he took always good care of us. Bikas is a talented entertainer who teached us a lot of Nepali words. Ramkumar is a very modest guy who is always smiling and was very helpful when we were looking for our lost camera. We would have liked more information about the nature and culture during the trekking. It was a beautiful walk through the nature with many nice flowers and butterflies. Unfortunately we didn’t see any wild animals (except for the leeches!) and because of the weather (monsoon) the clouds were hiding the mountain views. For European standard the accommodations were very basic! Except in Subrya Bensi there was nowhere a hot shower. It was resolved by giving us a bowl with warm water. The blankets at the Lamahotel were horrible. Some toilets were very dirty and unhealthy. They really could pay more attention to it otherwise tourists will stay away in the future. Nevertheless the good food and the warm hospitality of the accommodation hosts compensated this discomfort! We experienced this as modest described trekking sometimes really challenging. I once slipped and fell over the edge and could just be rescued!! This was my most frightening experience ever. The accompaniment of the guide and the porters was very pleasant. We liked to sing together a Nepali song: “Resem firiri” NAMASTE.

Good trail, flexible guide, and hotels, food, and transport is neatly arranged so you can focus on hiking. Our guide was a friendly man named Binod, who lets you go on your own pace. The boss of the company speaks fluent English and answered the questions we had about preparations per email. The company provides sleeping bags which in rolled up state are larger than compact sleeping bags for camping, so consider bringing your own. The wooden hotels on the trail have decent sleeping places and food. Most bathrooms even had hot showers, albeit in concrete rooms. The guides and porter were excellent....certainly looked out for me every step of the way. Informative and helpful. My only concern was that the company helped to organize a drive for me to a meeting outside Kathmandu when I got back....the price they charged me was twice what I paid when I organized the return trip!

Myself and my friend decided to go do a trek for the first time. And I must say it was the perfect trek! You start out in a warm climate in a jungle where you can see monkeys, you will do quite a lot of vertical meters. By the end you reach a small village surrounded by glacier where the temperature has dropped significantly! We were picked up by our amazing and kind guide Bishnu at the airport and he was with us all the way until our farewell dinner! All in all it was an amazing experience which I highly recommend! It’s a trek that gives you so many different sceneries in just one week.

MIND BLOWING TREK I went alone with guide in end of January/beginning February. Had a wonderful meeting with different villages during all trekking which could see the real lifestyle from Nepal Lang Tang Valley, Tibetan Culture and Nepalese Culture. I Started from stunning forest trekking, went to river/mountain sights and finally reach the final point (Camjing Gumba) to reach highest point (4984m). Absolutely mind blowing experience from first day (bus trip till to the starting point) until last day. Watching local culture and how they are re-building a new city after huge earthquake from 2015. Strongly recommend for who want to feel real mountain life, local village lifestyle, have a good accomodation with such nice Nepale food. Ultimately, reaching the mountain peak of 4984m is breathtaking view for all valley!! With such great service starting from airport pickup, meeting before trekking (orientation), friendly and qualified guide, easygoing staff and very flexible for any situation. I didnt have travel insurance for Nepal (which is obligation) and Lion Nepal agency just arranged for me with good price all before trekking day. Just had great first Nepal memories with them!!

Langtang Valley is a very nice area to go hiking. Different terrains, nice people and awesome views. Our guide Binod was also very careful and helped us as best as he could. His English wasn’t fluent but good enough to communicate to avoid misunderstandings. If somebodies carrying a little more luggage it is easier with porter although we didn’t have one. The trek is not as easy as promoted, especially for complete beginners or people that are not fit at all. The trek itself is very easy to find. It’s almost the same way up and down. I would recommend going there because it’s less touristic than other short treks in Nepal. Nepal Lion Tours is quite professional. Communication was good and quick. There were a couple of things we didn’t like though. Included services like food is limited to food itself no drinks (which are quite expensive in the mountains). They are promoting guides speaking all kinds of languages but our guide didn’t even spoke English fluently. He was very nice though. If there’s a shower in tea houses that’s also extra and a couple of other things too. Should be included regarding the package prices.

My wife and I took this adventure in the middle of March 2018. If you're limited on time, I can't imagine a better trek. The variety and beauty of the scenery is captivating. The people are wonderful and warming. Our guide Prakash was fabulous and very sweet -- he had a great rapport with everyone on the trail and he certainly had our trust. He's very honest and made sure we had fun. Thank you!!!

What a great trip. Excellent service and our guide, Bishnu, was fantastic. I went as a solo traveler but chose to join a group which included 2 British guys and we ended upp having a great time. Beautiful scenery and great weather, except when we summited Kyanjing Ri for a sunrise view when it was a bit cloudy, but overall very nice. The accommodations were a bit rustic, but are improving due to the rebuilding after the Earthquake of 2015. I'd definitely recommend for those with limited time in Nepal who want a wonderful trek through the Himalayas.

Having not done any real trekking before, my friend and I opted to go with a guide, and we decided on Nepal Lion for organizing our trip. Langtang Valley View Trek was a great choice, being relatively easy and offering great views. Having done our trek in June, we got quite lucky with the weather, and were able to see mostly-unobstructed views. Our guide Binod was quite knowledgeable and helpful throughout our trip, and allowed us to choose our own pace. The teahouses and lodges were all fairly nice and cozy, with a good selection of food. My only complaint might be that for $475, only one drink (a tea or coffee) is included per day. Make sure you have at least a few thousand rupees to spare if you want something other than water with your meals. Overall though, the trek was very enjoyable and stress-free. Highly reccomend.
