Trip Introduction

Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking is one of the most popular trekking regions in Nepal. This region is rich in natural resources and also offers great beauty of culture. The high mountains, Tamang villages, the alpine grasslands with colorful wildflowers are the main tourist attractions of this region. If you are bored in staying in hotels this trek will offer you the experience of homestay trek.

Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking is a community-based trek that is located between Ganesh Himal and Langtang region. This trek is the most accessible trek from the Kathmandu valley. This trek will give you culturally rich places which are populated by the Tamang people and their village ’s. Not only that, this site offers you plenty of beautiful scenarios that you might not have experienced before like – green farmland, thick forest and view of Langtang Himalayas.  The people living in this site has a culture which is somehow related to the Tibetan culture as it touches the Tibetan border.

Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking combines biodiversity, eye-soothing view of mountains, hills, and landscape. Along with that, beautiful villages, rivers and hot spring bath in Tatopani add more excitement in this trek. You will get the majestic view when you walk past the rhododendron and bamboo forest, get the chance to encounter some of rarest wildlife and lovely monasteries and gompas can be visited frequently.

This is not a touristic trek and you might not see any tourist on many occasions. This makes the culture and environment untouched and away from modernization. Maximum people living in the area follow Buddhism and throughout the path, you can see the chortens and Stupas with colorful prayer flags. This trek will include homestay and lodge accommodation. Throughout the trek, you can witness the various peaks in the region such as Shispangma, Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Tibet peak and many more.

The main goal of this Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking is to raise the income source of Tamang people in this area. This site was very badly affected by the earthquake back in 2015. So, Tourism is the major source of income for this region. Tourist gets the chance to view this beautiful region and people get the opportunity to earn some money.

Wish for some more trekking in Langtang Region or maybe a list of tours by Nepal Lion Tours & Treks.

Travelled in April as a family of four. It was our first visit to Nepal and I booked the Langtang Valley View trek with Nepal Lion Tours & Treks via Bookmundi as it suited our abilities and timescales. Mr Shiva was helpful and pleasant, he kept in touch with us from the date of booking and during our time in Nepal. The trek itself was challenging, ascending 2000m in the first few days. We saw eagles and monkeys, the landscape changing from forests with pretty rhododendron trees to open pastures with the magnificent peaks coming into view. It was very moving to see the devastation created by the earthquake two years ago, however the locals are rebuilding their lives and the route and facilities are very much open for business. We met some great people...trekkers, locals and of course our own group. Our porters, Krishna, Nima and Bikash were hard-working and good fun. The biggest shout out goes to our wonderful guide Prakash, for his professionalism, care and attention...he barely let us out of his sight. I would not hesitate to recommend Lion Tours & Treks and Prakash in particular. They were part of a truly unforgettable personal experience...I hope to return to the Himalayas sometime soon. Top tips: If you can afford to, upgrade to a private jeep for the long and arduous journey to Syabrubesi. Budget and take enough rupees to last you the trek, remembering drinks and snacks get pricier the higher you go.
