Makalu & Barun Region

Makalu Region and Barun Valley are amazingly unexpolre regions of Nepal. Where you can experience the 5th Highest Peak in the world. Makalu-Barun National Park offers an exciting experience for trekkers to explore the Makalu Barun Valley Trek. Similarly, The conservation area spreads over an area of over 1500 square kilometers. Furthermore, the area extends from low ranges at 500m to the high Nepal Himalayas at over 8000m.

 

The Makalu Barun National Park lies in a high diversity of forest types that are characteristic for the Eastern Himalayas. Tropical dipterocarp monsoon forest on 400 m (1,300 ft) altitude to subalpine conifer stands on 4,000 m (13,000 ft) altitude. Forest aspects vary depending on seasonal moisture availability, temperature and snow cover at different elevations and slopes. Forests below 2,000 m (6,600 ft) are strongly affect by subsistence agriculture, so that only some ecologically significant stands remain there.
