Pikey Peak Trekking

 

This Pikey Peak Trekking has another name as Pikey Peak Dudhkunda trek. So, it offers the most effective opportunity to explore the renowned Mt. Everest Base Camp Trekking. Further, numerable trekkers explore this region for trekking and are located far away from the regular trekker’s crowds.

 

You can indulge yourself in the gorgeous and spirited cultural path to Pikey peak. Likewise, the Pikey Peak Trekking offers a broad vantage in seeing Mt. Everest and Dudhkunda. Moreover, the Pikey Peak Trekking route passes through terraced hillsides and alpine forests. The paths are windswept open ridges of Pikey peak (4065m).

 

From here the perspective is incredible together with the seven 8000-meter peaks such as Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Shishapangma in Tibet. We tend to explore the native monasteries and Shengeephuk cave as we trek more up to the sacred lake of Dudhkunda (4560m) within the lap of Mt. Numbur and Karyolung.

 

Where tumbling ice falls suspend precariously above the holy mountain lake blue calm water. We tend to trek down via Trakshindo monastery to Phaphlu to require a breathtaking drive back to Kathmandu to finish our trip to Sherpa Everest Pikey Peak Dudhkunda trek or Pikey Peak Trekking.

 

What can you expect?

 

This is a newly introduced trekking route in the Khumbu region which allows us to enjoy an up-close view of Everest and the lower Khumbu region along with magical landscapes. The view of sunrise and sunset over the giant peaks is so magical that it will become your lifetime memory.

 

Apart from majestic Himalayan views, you will get an opportunity to discover unique geography and the life it supports. The unique Sherpa Culture and their hospitality are very intriguing. Above all, this is a newly discovered trekking route and offers an off-beat and solitary trekking experience.

Outline Itinenary


  • Day 1:  Kathmandu - Dhap - Jhapre
  • Day 2:  Jhapre - Pikey Base Camp

  • Day 4:  Loding - Junbesi
  • Day 5:  Junbesi - Taksindu
  • Day 6:  Taksindu - Phaplu
  • Day 7:  Phaplu - Kathmandu

Itinerary


  • Day 1: Kathmandu - Dhap - Jhapre

    From Kathmandu, take a drive along the Sunkoshi river to Dhap Bazaar. It is a three-hour drive that takes you through several settlements. You can explore the bazaar and observe the lifestyles of the locals. Continue your journey to Ghurmi, where you can have lunch.
    After lunch, continue on your way to Jhapre that takes you on bumpy ride. Along the way you can have a beautiful view of Mount Everest.

  • Day 2: Jhapre - Pikey Base Camp

    Witness the sunrise and gaze as the first golden rays of the sun fall on the snow-capped mountains. Continue your trek on a dusty road that gradually goes uphill until you reach Bhulbule. From there, the path grows steep and ascends through the rhododendron forests to the tiny settlement of Lhamuje.

    The trail after Lhamuje opens out to a pasture where we can witness Yaks grazing. Cross the Mani wall and go along a winding road to each Pikey Base Camp where you can visit the yak cheese industrial plant.

     

  • Day 3: Pikey Peak - Loding

    The trail goes mostly uphill and provides awider view of the beautiful mountains. After three hours of hiking through the picturesque landscape and the rhododendron forest, you will reach Jase Bhangyang where you will spend the night at a local guest house.

  • Day 4: Loding - Junbesi

    Relish the view of Numbur Himal in the morning as the sun rises and later make your way to Thuptenchholing Gompa. The trail ascends yet again after crossing the Junbesi river.

     

  • Day 5: Junbesi - Taksindu

    Traksindo La is one of the main passes which will lead you towards the Dudhkoshi valley. You can stop at few local tea shop to relax and and enjoy a cup of tea.

    The trail starts to descend towards the village of Traksindu where you can find regular public road transportation. Explore the the local monastery at your own leisure.

  • Day 6: Taksindu - Phaplu

    After four hours of walking, the trail goes gradually uphill for a half-hour to reach your final destination, Phaplu.

  • Day 7: Phaplu - Kathmandu

    Bid farewell to the mountains and make your way back to Kathmandu. The route will take you from the Solu Khumbu region, across Sun Kosi River and eventually back to the Kathmandu valley.
