Trip Introduction

This Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 days tour is perfect for those who don’t wish to walk for long hours, but still, wish to enjoy all the wonders that a mountain trekking experience has to offer. Most trekking on this tour take place at lower elevations and are thus less demanding. Our expert guides help you at every step along the way and make sure that your Nepal adventure is unlike any other.

The highlight of Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 Days is the mesmerizing panoramic mountain views that you will get atop Poonhill of the Dhaulagiri Mountain Range, the Annapurna Mountain Range, Mt. Lamjung Himal, Mt. Manaslu, Nt. Ganesh and several other Himalayan Ranges and peaks. Both on the way up and down from Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 Days, you will be surrounded by picturesquely terraced slopes, warm villages, beautiful paddy fields, and wonderful culture and traditions of the ethnic Gurung and Magar people. What we can assure you is that you cannot stop telling people, back home, about the quality time you’ll be spending during this trek. It is simply considered hard to get the full enjoyment of both trekking and tour in a short period.

Nepal is a country with diversified land structures you usually have to spend ample of your busy days in order to know the root/foundation of the country. There are many trekking and tour packages that extend up-to or even more than 20 days. But worry not! We have already figured out a way to provide our guests the fullest of Nepal only with-in 5 days of time. It leads us to devise a new tour package that includes both tour and trek in Himalayan Region. Now, we have Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 Days as the best option of all.

Ghorepani Poon hill Trek 5 Days in Annapurna Region is one of the shortest trekkings in the area. But it provides you ample of reasons to dive deep into trekking. You won’t feel better anyway than loving the moment in this wonderland. Whilst providing some wonderful close-up views of both the sacred mountain Machhapuchhre(Fishtail) and Annapurna-South it also gives you a living of Nepali-Villagers. A refreshing three days allowing an insight into mountain life.

Our destination is the beautiful and ornate village of Ghandruk, home to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. Here, you have a chance to visit the project to discover at first hand the conservation work being carried out. Along the way, you will see the beautiful sceneries of the Himalayan ecosystem. The mesmerizing beauty of the mountains will enthrall you from the start until the end of the trip. If you are worried about the altitude, you don’t have to. The maximum altitude of our trek is 3200 meters but that’s only for a while. Most of the time we trek below 2700 meters altitude. This attitude is quite normal for human health.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara

You should let us know about your arrival to Kathmandu, we will be there to pick you up from Airport to your Hotel but our package only starts from the second day of your arrival.

Our representative will come at your door, at your hotel at 6.30 am in Kathmandu, to receive you before we start the trip. The trip starts with a drive of around 6 to 7 hours through lush green forest, meandering road through the hills and gracefully flowing riverside. You will also come across lively markets and clusters of villages on the way. Buffet lunch will be taken in one of the road side restaurants.

Today, after we drive to Pokhara (200km), we will see good scenery of the majestic city. You can go boating in Fewa Lake(if we have enough time, as boating facility gets closed early), which overlooks the Annapurna Himalayan Range. In the evening, we prepare for the trek.

  • Day 2: Pokhara-Nayapul to Ulleri

On the second day of our trip, its a 2 Hours drive in a local bus/taxi from Hotel to Nayapul (1050m). From Nayapul we start our Poonhill panorama trek. Covering many picturesque views of northern hilly region of Western Nepal we ascend through various alpine forest, bamboo forests and grass and shrub-lands. Tonight, we stay over-night at Ulleri, a very beautiful and serene town with folk culture will provide you an Tour-gasmic experience along with its very refined hospitality.

  • Day 3: Ulleri-Ghorepani

Early in the morning(at around 4 or 4:30), we head up to Poon-Hill, to a viewpoint to have a panoramic view of sunrise. You will be able to see mesmerizing sunrise from this place. After an hour up-hill walk in a cold breeze, sipping coffee/tea sold by a guy out there, looking at the Sun rising on Dhaulagiri Mountain Range, Annapurna Mountain Range, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Ganesh and several other Himalayan Ranges seems nothing less than magnificent, that with people at the number of 200 or more .

After this we trek back down to Ghorepani and have breakfast. After breakfast we continue our journey back to Tadhapani, a place towards Pokhara. With such a bewildering view and nostalgia of craving to stay some more day in Ghorepani we head ahead placing the whole Annapurna Range on the right and some steep hills at our back. And we are here at Tahdapani, you might want to get some rest and then time for dinner.

  • Day 4: Ghorepani-Tadhapani

Upon completion of the Poon Hill, we now descend back to Tadhapani along with the gorgeous panoramic experience. You have your next day to enjoy the beauty of Ghandruk.

  • Day 5:  Tadhapani-Ghandruk-Pokhara

Wake up, early, sunrise isn’t any less spectacular here than you see at Poon-Hill, with less crowd and cold breeze. After we enjoy a picturesque morning with a lovely breakfast at Tadhapani we now head towards our last destination but not any less, Ghandruk, before Pokhara.

Ghandruk is much a cultural hub mingled with a picturesque scenery in its background. You can enjoy around several things like inside-home cultural museums, tiled roofs, people and their hospitality along with your lunch. Now its only 3 hour ride in a local bus from Ghandruk to Pokhara leaving several beautiful landscapes and clear-water rivers. Our package ends as we get to Pokhara today.

This was a very enjoyable five days. Prakash is a very friendly, able and experienced guide - who really made the whole experience special. Many thanks to Shiva for putting all the arrangements in place, and even making sure I got my plane to Kathmandu on the last day (there was fog at the airport). Overall, this was an excellent trek - I can't wait for the next one.”

GREAT TREK, RAFTING AND SAFARI “Excellent trip! My wife and I identified the itinerary that we wanted for our trip to Nepal (Poon Hill trek, rafting and Chitwan safari with New Year´s Eve in Kathmandu) and we searched various travel companies to help make the itinerary work for us. We found Nepal Lion Tours and Treks Pvt Ltd via Bookmundi. The boss, Shiva, responded quickly and arranged the itinerary that we wanted with some extras that we hadn´t considered all for a reasonable price. After a few emails back and forth with Shiva to confirm all the details we were ready, happy and confident that the trip would be great. After arriving in Kathmandu, everything was arranged for us, and we were assigned Prakash as our guide for the week along with a porter for the trek. Prakash was talkative and funny, and looked after us greatly. He was happy to share many things about his culture and we enjoyed his company. He has been doing many treks in Nepal for the past 7 years, so he knows his stuff and we knew we were in capable hands. Also, he understands a lot of foreign cultures and knows what we are looking for in with our time in Nepal. The trek was fabulous with beautiful views and we were lucky to have such great weather in December (sunny, 15C in the day and less than 5C at night). The tea houses that you stay in are basic, most had hot water for a shower (but maybe try and be the first or second one in the shower so the hot water doesn´t run out!), and the food was decent. Note that any drinks (including teas and water) are to be paid for yourself, but everything else is included (i.e. accommodation and food). Day 1 lasts around 4 hours hike all uphill, Day 2 is 7 hours hike all uphill, Day 3 is 7 hours hike uphill and downhill, and Day 4 is 4 hours all downhill. The paths are well maintained (some of the steps are quite big!), lots of tea houses to stop off at along the way (usually every hour or so) and they have a lot of supplies. The rafting on the Trisuli River was fun. It is around 20km which takes around 3 hours and there were 9 of us in the rafting boat. The water is cold, and depending on the company you go with you need to check whether there are showers at the end, or at least how you will get to warm clothing / shower. The Chitwan safari was good experience. We stayed in a nice lodge (Hermitage) and went on a boat, walk and jeep safari. The vegetation was very high in December making it more difficult to view the animals, but we still hit lucky and saw a lot. You can do elephant riding and there are other ´tricks´ that the elephants can do. We chose not to go with these as we were sceptical about their training. We used a private car to get from Pokhara to the rafting, then to Chitwan, then back to Kathmandu. For us we felt it was worth doing and Shiva booked it all for us, and Prakash was with us to make sure it all went smoothly. When we were back in Kathmandu, Shiva took us to a lovely local restaurant with dancing to see how the trip went for us. Both Shiva and Prakash really looked after us and made sure everything went to plan. Great trip, thoroughly enjoyed, thank you to both of them!”

I absolutely enjoyed the trek and beautiful panoramic view from Poonhill. I enjoyed so much that I wished that I had signed up for a longer course. My guide, Bishal, was very kind and provided just enough support I needed. I didn’t get a complimentary dinner, airport drop or a trekking map though. I also thought it would have been better if there was a briefing on the itinerary before the trekking started. The company was quick to respond when I made an inquiry. The staff was friendly. Overall I was happy about their service. Just as I wrote in the overal review for the trekking, I didn’t get a complimentary dinner, airport drop or a trekking map though. I also thought it would be better if they provide a briefing on the itinerary at the time of the payment.

Poon Hill Sunrise experience isn't worth the effort. 90% of moonlight and sunrise views can be seen from level of Ghore Pani lodging compounds. Tour company did provide me with an experienced guide, insuring my safety.

The tour was very well organized from our arrival at Kathmandu till we arrived back in Kathmandu . We did not have to worry about anything. The tour guide Binod was very friendly, helpful and a great person. He showed us the best spots around the track and he negotiated best prices, when we had to buy any products for ourself . The track is very beautiful and it is not extremely challenging. I would even recommended for beginners. The whole experience was just amazing! The tour was extremely well organized by the company. All permits and safe conditions were ensured and well arranged by the tour guide. Basically, you do not have to worry about anything.

I hired a guide through Nepal Lion in order to do the Poon Hill Trek over 4 days and 3 nights. This was my first time trekking in Nepal so i wasn't sure what to expect but saw the great reviews the company had got and decided to go with them. Our guide Bishnu was great, making all our arrangements covering accommodation, food etc. He told us each night what the plan for the next day was and the whole thing ran really smoothly. At the end you get a really cool certificate saying you've completed the trek which is a nice bonus. I would definitely use Nepal Lion Tours if I come to Nepal again, they were really professional and made the trek aI hired a guide through Nepal Lion in order to do the Poon Hill Trek over 4 days and 3 nights.
